Fact Check: Video Does NOT Show Leaked Footage Of Sean 'Diddy' Combs Riding A 'Dirt Bike' In Prison BOP Says No

Does a video authentically show "new footage leaked" of music producer Sean "Diddy" Combs riding a "dirt bike" in prison? No, that's not true: The video clip in this social media post began circulating on Instagram several months before Combs' September 2024 arrest. A Federal Bureau of Prisons representative told Lead Stories that this claim is false, saying, "No incarcerated individual has the means or ability to ride a 'dirt bike' or motorcycle in any Federal Bureau of Prisons facility," including the one Combs is currently an inmate at.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on Instagram on December 28, 2024, with the caption:

Bad Boy 4 Life!!

New footage leaked of P. Diddy in prison--apparently, they can't hold him down! 🚴‍♂️✨ Riding circles on a dirt bike, proving he's still a Bad Boy for life. 👑 2025 is already looking like a comeback year for him.

Text centered in the video, which showed a man riding a motorcycle in what appears to be an empty prison, reads:

The video in the post circulated on social media before Combs' arrest in September 2024. The exact video was also shared in this February 24, 2024, post (archived here), which showed the man riding a motorcycle in what appears to be an empty or abandoned prison. Lead Stories contacted the original poster for further information about when and where it was recorded.

Lead Stories reached out to the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) for a statement regarding the validity of this claim. Emery Nelson, a representative at the BOP Office of Public Affairs, responded in a December 30, 2024, email:

No incarcerated individual has the means or ability to ride a "dirt bike" or motorcycle in any Federal Bureau of Prisons facility.

The Southern District of New York, United States Attorney's Office reported in a September 17, 2024, press release that Combs was arrested on September 16, 2024, and "charged in a three count Indictment with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution."

The Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn told Lead Stories that Combs "is currently incarcerated" at the facility in a December 31, 2024, email.

Nelson also shared Combs's registration number so Lead Stories could locate his public profile using the BOP "find an inmate" feature on the agency website to confirm that he is an inmate at "Brooklyn MDC" as of this writing.
