Fact Check: Chuck Schumer Does NOT Use a Rolls Royce Gifted to Him By the British Government -- Story is Satire Satire Origin

Does U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer "drive to work every day" in a Rolls Royce he received as a gift from the British government? No, that's not true: That rumor originated on a Facebook page that describes its content as satirical. The fake "Rolls Royce" claim came amid backlash against President Donald Trump's decision to accept the gift of a jet from the government of Qatar.

The claim appeared in a meme posted to Facebook on May 14, 2025, (archived here). Along with a photo of Schumer, the meme contained text that read:

Chuck Schumer wants everyone to know that it's "treason" for the US government to accept a free jumbo jet from a foreign country.

The same Chuck Schumer who drives to work everyday in a Rolls Royce GIFTED to him by the British government.

This is what it looked like at the time of writing:

In reality, there is no truth to that rumor, which originated in a May 14 post on Facebook by America's Last Line of Defense, which is part of a network of self-decribed satirical websites and social media accounts.

That Facebook post was accompanied by a May 14 post, entitled "Chuck Schumer Furious Over Trump's New Plane--Forgets He Took a Rolls Royce from the British Government", which appeared on the associated website Dunning-Kruger Times, which carries the following disclaimer about its content:

Everything on this website is fiction. It is not a lie and it is not fake news because it is not real. If you believe that it is real, you should have your head examined.
