Does a viral image show a real post on Craigslist that offered $200 for attending Kid Rock's performance at Turning Point USA's alternative to the NFL Super Bowl halftime show? No, that's not true: The authenticity of the alleged screenshot couldn't be verified at the time of this writing. Lead Stories found discrepancies between the appearance of other posts on Craigslist and the post in question.
The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on Instagram, where it was published on February 9, 2026. It opened:
Ha ha ha, they had to pay people to show up to the Kid Rock 'alternative' halftime show!
The entry included what looked like a screenshot of a post on Craigslist. The image said:
CL south florida > broward county > gigs > talent gigsActors wanted in February in FloridaThe role: fill seats in a small venue during a lively music showThe script: cheer & clap throughout the show, just as you would during a real concertWhere: location will be provided (due to security)When: timing will be emailedThe requirements: casual concert attire, more conservative, this is a family show, play the part! The use: will be used on select YouTube channels and America First tv stationsInterested? The screenshot purports to show an official Craigslist line of text in blue in the upper section of the image, showing the path to a posting. If the ad were real, that path still could have been seen in the same gig section where the supposed post was published. However, Lead Stories could only find that format in other sections of the website -- for example, here (archived here):

When Lead Stories recreated the path from the viral image, the top part of the screen showed a different design, with white boxes instead of blue text (archived here and here), and our search using the exact keywords did not yield an active ad saying what the screenshot on social media showed:

Lead Stories reviewed multiple versions of the claim but found no examples that included a link -- whether live, archived, or inactive. That's another feature of a Craigslist ad: each has its own URL, which you can send to someone to help them accurately find the ad.
Kid Rock performed at Turning Point USA's "All‑American Halftime Show" (archived here and here) on February 8, 2026. The show was marketed as an alternative to the NFL's official Super Bowl halftime performance happening at the same time. which featured Bad Bunny (archived here).
Earlier that day, the alleged screenshot of an ad for actors was published (archived here) by California Governor Gavin Newsom's press office on X.
Lead Stories reached out to Newsom's press office, Kid Rock's publicist, Turning Point USA and Craigslist but received no responses.
