Fact Check: NO Reputable Poll Shows Trump Has 99% Support In Israel -- Polls Show 69% To 79% Not That High

Does a reputable poll show President Donald Trump has 99% support in Israel? No, that's not true: There is no publicly available poll showing Donald Trump with 99% support in Israel. When Trump made that claim, he did not identify any poll supporting the figure, and Lead Stories was unable to find one either.

The claim appeared in a video (archived here) by The White House account on YouTube on May 20, 2026. In the video, titled "President Trump Gaggles with Press at Joint Base Andrews En Route to Groton, CT, May 20, 2026," Trump said:

I'm, right now, at 99% in Israel. I could run for prime minister, so maybe after I do this, I'll go to Israel, run for prime minister. Had a poll this morning, I'm 99%, so that's good.

This is what a screenshot of the video looked like on YouTube at the time of writing:

Lead Stories searched Google News (archived here) and Yahoo! News (archived here) and did not find any matching reports for the words: "Trump with 99% in Israel." While there were many stories about Trump saying those words, no polls show that level of support for him.

Two polls Lead Stories found show significant support for Trump in Israel, but nowhere near 99%. A Pew Research Center poll (archived here) from June 11, 2025, shows 69% of Israeli adults have "a lot or some confidence" in the president. A separate poll (archived here) from The Jewish People Policy Institute on Feb. 11, 2026, shows that "73 percent of Israelis rate Trump as a better-than-average U.S. president for Israel's interests." The survey also found:

Among Jewish Israelis, 54 percent say Trump is one of the best presidents in U.S. history in the Israeli context, with an additional 25 percent describing him as above average, for a total of 79 percent.

Lead Stories reached out to the White House Press Office to ask which poll the president was citing when he said he had 99% support in Israel. There was no immediate response.
