Fact Check: OLD Video Of Russian Submarine Arriving In Havana, Cuba Is From 2024 -- Not 2026 Old Video

Does a video show a Russian submarine arriving in Havana, Cuba, in May 2026? No, that's not true: The footage dates back to June 2024, when a nuclear-powered Russian submarine and three Russian warships arrived in Havana as part of a port visit coinciding with Russian naval exercises in the Caribbean. The clip resurfaced in social media posts falsely claiming it depicted such an event in May 2026.

The claim appeared in a post and video (archived here) by the @MOSSADil account on X on May 4, 2026. It read:

A Russian nuclear-powered submarine has arrived in Havana, Cuba today, just 90 miles from the United States.

The original video dates back to June 2024, when the nuclear sub Kazan, with three Russian naval ships, entered Cuban waters ahead of military exercises (archived here) in the Caribbean. A CBS News report (archived here) from June 12, 2024, shows some of the same footage:
