Fact Check: Jared Kushner Is NOT One Of The People Who Recently Bought .si Domain Names Slovenia's .SI

Was Jared Kushner, a businessman, U.S. special envoy for peace and President Donald Trump's son-in-law, one of the people who recently bought .si domain names? Here's what we know so far: There is no evidence that Kushner recently acquired any .si domain names, which use Slovenia's country-code top-level domain. Affinity Partners, Kushner's investment firm, told Lead Stories that "Jared Kushner does not own any .si domain names."

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) by the @RetroCoast account on X on Oct. 8, 2026. It read:

BINGO! Jared Kushner owns the domains .si so that is why Trump is trying to rebrand AI to Super Intelligence

It's all about the benjamins

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

The .si domain has seen a surge in registrations since Trump signed an executive order (archived here) on Sept. 29, 2026, directing the executive branch to use "Super Intelligence" (SI) instead of "Artificial Intelligence" (AI) in official communications and other non-statutory documents. The .si country-code top-level domain is assigned to Slovenia and managed by the Academic and Research Network of Slovenia (ARNES). A top-level domain is the part of a domain name that appears at the end. For example, the top-level domain for Lead Stories' website address, leadstories.com, is .com.

According to Register.si, the official registry for .si domains operated by ARNES, registrations of .si domain names have skyrocketed since the White House announcement. In an Oct. 11, 2026, email to Lead Stories, Register.si spokesperson Klara Herman said:

In September 2026, .si gained significant international attention due to the growing association of AI with superintelligence (SI).

Before September, there were already more than 160,000 registered .si domain names, representing Slovenian businesses, individuals, organisations and holders of intellectual property rights.

Since September, we have seen increasing interest from international companies wishing to associate their online presence with superintelligence.

Each .si domain is registered individually. Information about registered domains, including their registration date, expiration date, domain holder and registrar, can be checked through our public WHOIS service.

On Oct. 11, 2026, the Register.si site reported (archived here):

393,793 .si domains registered

46,066 .si new domains in last month

7,270 .si new domains in last 24 hours

98 .si registrars

The Register.si website also has an article on the growth of .si domains. It is available here (archived here) and updated daily.

To check the claim that Kushner was among those who recently purchased .si domain names, Lead Stories contacted his investment firm, Affinity Partners. In an Oct. 9, 2026, email, the company's press office responded:

Jared Kushner does not own any .si domain names.

Register.si does not allow anonymous domain registration. Details are available in the agency's online privacy statement (archived here).

Note to Lead Stories readers: If you have spotted a domain name owned by Kushner that we have not yet covered, email us at [email protected].
