Video: Eddie Murphy Jokes About Bill Cosby At Mark Twain Awards

  • by: Alan Duke

Comic legend Eddie Murphy broke his stage silence on the subject of Bill Cosby's sex scandal as he accepted Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, an award Cosby was received.

Murphy, who refused to reprise his famous Cosby impersonation for a recent Saturday Night Live reunion, jumped full-force into a parody of Cosby with his rendition of what it would look like if Cosby appeared on stage to return his trophy -- as many critics demanded.

"I would like to talk to some of the people who feel like I should give back my motherf**kin' trophies," Murphy said in his Cosby "pudding pop" voice. "You may have heard recently that I allegedly put the pill in the people's stomach. If I ever see or meet this Hannibal Buress in person, I am going to try and kill this man!"

Burgess is the comic whose stand-up jokes about Cosby being an alleged rapist triggered an tidal wave of public outcry and dozens of alleged sex assault victims last year.

This Mark Twain tribute for Murphy will air on PBS-TV on November 23, 2015 in the United States.
