While just a few names are being mentioned in news reports about Donald Trump's "short list" of possible vice presidential picks, Trump says there are actually 10 potential running mates under consideration, including two retired military generals.
Sen. Tom Cotton, a Tennessee Republican, took his name off the list Wednesday, saying he told Trump on Tuesday that he didn't think he was right for the job of vice president and Iowa's Sen. Joni Ernst also strongly hinted she's not interested. That left former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as the names most-mentioned.
But Trump told FOX News that he still has 10 people in mind -- including two ex-generals.
Final decision time is approaching as the Republican National Convention starts in just 11 days in Cleveland, Ohio.
