Donald Trump is attacking as "traitors" the long list of Republican senators, congressmen and other leaders who have unendorsed him since his lewd comments about women emerged Friday. It is a predictable response from the GOP presidential nominee, considering his past assaults on anyone who spoke out against him.
His Sunday morning Twitter rant included retweets this from supporters Sunday morning:
"Republican leadership" should have only one job: Help elect the nominee we voted for, Donald J. Trump."
"@eericmyers: @realDonaldTrump "Republican leadership" should have only one job: Help elect the nominee we voted for, Donald J. Trump."

"GOP traitors! Not supporting U is voting for her, destroying America."

Trump followed the retweets with a message of his own, appearing to call on his supporters to abandon the GOP: "So many self-righteous hypocrites. Watch their poll numbers - and elections - go down!"

The Sunday night town hall event between Trump and Hillary Clinton could see Trump step up the attacks on his own party's leaders.
