Fact Check

It has been a sad week for music, with the deaths of David Bowie and Glen Frey getting massive attention online. Also, for some reason, the deaths of Bob Denver and Leslie Nielsen went viral again, despite both gentlement having passed away years ago.

So perhaps it is no surprise that news now reaches us of the death of Animal at age 66, most famous for being the drummer in Dr. Teeth and his Electric Mayhem of Muppet Show fame. The cause of death was supposed to be 'threadbaring syndrome'. Suspiciously enough, the only source of the news is the Waterford Whisper News, a satirical website.

There is no confirmation of the news on the Twitter account of The Electric Mayhem, in fact according to their latest tweet Animal is alive and well, reviewing music:

Still, despite the suspicious origin of the news, it is going very viral at the moment. Or as Animal would say: "LIKE! LIIIIIIIKE!!!!"
