Fact Check: NO Evidence That Hunter Biden Was Arrested On May 12, 2022 No Arrest

Was Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden's son, arrested on May 12, 2022? No, that's not true: There is no evidence that this has happened. Trustworthy media outlets have not reported on this story, either. Claims that Hunter Biden was arrested have appeared in the past, and Lead Stories found that those claims had no evidence as well.

The claim appeared in a Facebook post where it was published on May 12, 2022, under the title:

HUNTER BIDEN ARRESTED THIS MORNING- WITH CHAS CARTER, TRINA & CHARLIE WARD

This is what the post looked like on Facebook at the time of writing:

This video does not provide any sources to substantiate the claim that Hunter Biden was arrested. There have also been no reports of this claim from reliable media outlets. For example, neither ABC News nor Reuters show any relevant search results for "hunter biden arrested."

In September 2021, Lead Stories debunked the claim that Hunter had been arrested by the military here. In November 2020, Lead Stories debunked the claim that Hunter Biden had been arrested for child pornography here. Both claims were unfounded and not true.
