Fact Check: Video Does NOT Show A Real Argument Between 'Trans Person' And Flight Attendant -- It's A Skit With Actors Actors

Does this video show a real flight attendant and a "trans person" arguing over pronouns on a passenger aircraft? No, that's not true: This video was made by the comedian and content creator Jibrizy. The video is a clip from a longer Jibrizy scene, and the longer video ends with Jibrizy saying, "Hey guys, that was all a skit ... Who was right and who was wrong in your opinion?"

A version appeared on Instagram (archived here) on September 13, 2023. The video's focus is a male flight attendant and a purported "trans person" standing in the aisle of a supposed aircraft arguing about what pronouns should be used for the passenger, who says he is a man. The caption reads:

INSANE: Trans person freaks out on an airplane when flight attendant uses the wrong pronoun!

Not confirmed if real or not.

This is what the post looked like at the time of writing:

There is no indication on the post of the source of the video, and the clip in the Instagram post does not credit Jibrizy as the creative source nor does the clip carry the full version's ending with it's "Hey guys, that was all a skit."

In the clip on Instagram, two individuals go back and forth throughout the video. The purported flight attendant claims that the passenger is not a man because flight documents say the seat was booked for a woman, while the passenger asserts his identity. The caption does not share who filmed this, or where or when it was filmed. The caption ends, "Not confirmed if real or not."

The full version is a 7:45-minute video was posted on the Jibrizy Facebook page on September 12, 2023, with the title, "Flight attendant uses wrong pronoun and passenger gets upset." Jibrizy writes on the post:

Guys its acting before you say it watch the video we state it at the end

The video closes with Jibrizy and two actors on camera, as seen in the screenshot below:

The Jibrizy page intro states, "I'm a Director that makes feel good family content," indicating that the content posted on the page is theatrical.

Lead Stories wrote about a similar Jibrizy skit video used in a post about a mother purportedly ripping down an LGBT flag in a school classroom. As with the airplane argument skit, the full Jibrizy video about the classroom scene ended with "This was all a skit," and as with the airplane argument scene the classroom scene was clipped and reposted with no indication it was a skit and with no citation of its origin. The Lead Stories article on the classroom skit is here.
