Fact Check: NO Evidence A Guantanamo Hospital Orderly Was Arrested For Trying To Murder Klaus Schwab No Record

Was a Guantanamo Hospital orderly arrested for trying to murder World Economic Forum founder Klaus Schwab on April 22, 2024? No, that's not true: This claim appeared on a website that publishes fabricated content. No credible evidence exists to substantiate this claim.

The claim appeared in an article published by Real Raw News on April 25, 2024. Titled "Red Hats Infiltrate GITMO" (archived here), the article began:

A GITMO Naval Hospital orderly has been arrested for the attempted murder of World Economic Forum founder Klaus Schwab, who remains intubated in a medically induced coma, with armed guards standing watch outside his room, a GITMO source told Real Raw News.

Users on social media only saw this title, description and thumbnail:

Red Hats Infiltrate GITMO

A GITMO Naval Hospital orderly has been arrested for the attempted murder of World Economic Forum founder Klaus Schwab, who remains intubated in a medically induced coma, with armed guards standing watch outside his room, a GITMO source told Real Raw News.

The meaning of "red hats" in the headline was unclear. Supporters of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump are associated with red hats for wearing his red campaign headgear.

Lead Stories previously reported that the claim that World Economic Forum (WEF) founder Klaus Schwab had been hospitalized in mid-April 2024 was false. In an April 15, 2024, email to Lead Stories, Schwab's representative, Yann Zopf, head of media at WEF, confirmed that Schwab's health was excellent. Zopf also said of the claims that include Schwab:

Like many high-profile individuals and organizations, he and the World Economic Forum have been targeted by conspiracy narratives, as well as misinformation and disinformation campaigns.

Lead Stories did a search using keywords on the Google News archive of thousands of reliable information sites, visible here, and found no credible documents or reporting to corroborate the claim.

The only two April 22, 2024, posts (archived here and here ) on the World Economic Forum's verified X account did not report an attempt on Schwab's life or the arrest of a hospital orderly for trying to kill him. Instead, one post linked to an article on the WEF website about how companies can meet "the latest sustainability reporting requirements," and the other linked to an article on the WEF website about financial technologies.

Lead Stories contacted the WEF and the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Defense about the claim that a Guantanamo hospital orderly attacked Schwab. This fact check will be updated if any responses are received.
