Fact Check: Video Does NOT Show Biden Calling Man 'F*gg*t' -- Biden Said 'Thank You' 'Thank You'

Did a video show President Joe Biden calling a man a "f*gg*t"? No, that's not true: A representative for the man -- a TikToker named Harry Daniels -- denied the claim and told Lead Stories that Biden responded with "thank you" after Daniels sang briefly to the president while meeting him. Lead Stories could find no evidence that Biden used that sort of language towards Daniels.

The claim appeared in a X (formerly Twitter) post (archived here) on April 5, 2024. The post's caption read:

🚨 BREAKING: President Biden has reportedly called a man 'f*gg*t' after he randomly began singing a Lana Del Rey song in front of him.

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

The post included a video that Harry Daniels (archived here) had posted on his own account. The 20-second video showed Daniels singing lyrics from an original Lana Del Rey song, "National Anthem," while shaking Biden's hand. The on-screen caption of Daniels' video reads, "thank you president biden for letting me sing to you 😍😍." After Daniels finishes singing, he asks Biden, "What did you think?" Biden responds with "Thank you" at the 0:19 mark and moves on to shake another person's hand.

Lead Stories reached out to Daniels' management team regarding the X post's claim. In an April 9, 2024, email, Madeline Daniels, Harry Daniels' sister and manager, replied:

Not true.

He said 'thank you.'

A search of "Harry Daniels AND TikTok AND Joe Biden AND faggot" (archived here) and "Harry Daniels AND TikTok AND Joe Biden AND f*gg*t" (archived here) using Google News' index of thousands of credible news sites did not yield any relevant results.
