Fact Check: Edited Video Shows Bitcoin Whitepaper On Oval Office Wall -- Trump Actually Put Up Declaration Of Independence Digital Edit

Did President Trump unveil a framed copy of the Bitcoin whitepaper hung up behind curtains in the Oval Office to Laura Ingram during a tour? No, that's not true: The footage was digitally manipulated to replace the Declaration of Independence that can be seen in the original video. The edit is visible with the naked eye as the document appears to move and deform inside the frame as the camera position shifts.

The manipulated video appeared in a post on X (archived here) published on March 22, 2025, by an account promoting cryptocurrencies along with the text:

🔥 The $BTC Whitepaper was spotted at the White House

This is what the video looked like:

However, the original footage from Fox News available here on YouTube (archived here) published on March 20, 2025 was described in the title as "Trump hangs Declaration of Independence in Oval Office: 'Never been up' before":

The video's description read:

President Donald Trump gives Fox News' Laura Ingraham an exclusive tour of the Oval Office. #FoxNews #trump #ingraham
