Fact Check: AI Photo Does NOT Show Tesla Cybertruck Vandalized By Real Person In Rainbow Colored Clothing AI Generated

Does this photo show a real person described as a "liberal" in some social media posts vandalizing a Cybertruck? No, that's not true: The picture of the half-naked person dressed in weird rainbow colored clothes is ai generated. It originated from an account on X that says it publishes "trustworthy fake news & memes".

The image appeared in a post on X (archived here) where it was published on March 22, 2025 with a caption that read:

You see this guy vandalizing a Cybertruck. What do you do?

This is the post in question:

The account that originally posted the image (archived here) had a bio that reads:

I am 𝕏's #1 fart Influencer 💨
🎪 Join my circus and let's laugh at the world's current absurdities together! | 🎭 Trustworthy fake news & memes

Online AI detection tool Hive Moderation determined that the image was 98.2 percent likely "likely to contain AI-generated or deepfake content," as shown in the screenshot below:

There were several other elements in the image that are inconsistent with the exterior of an actual Tesla Cybertruck:
