Fact Check: Photo Does NOT Prove ICE Agent Stole The Bracelet He Was Wearing, As Social Media Post Suggests No Evidence

Does a photo of an ICE agent show a gold bracelet he stole from a man in Minnesota? No, that's not true: While this photo of an ICE agent appears to be real. It does not provide any evidence that the agent is wearing stolen jewelry. The post includes no specific dates, places or references to official findings, police reports or other evidence of a crime.

The accusation appeared in a post (archived here) published on Facebook by Feminist News on Jan. 29, 2026. It was captioned:

It appears that some ICE agents are stealing from the people they're arresting. This agent was photographed with a gold bracelet that he allegedly took off of a man in Minnesota.
The Nazis did this as well.
They systematically robbed Jewish people of money, jewelry, documents and other valuables as they loaded them on the trains to the camps.
At mass shooting sites such as Babyn Yar near Kyiv, Nazi united documented taking watches, rings, chains and other jewelry from Jews literally as they walked to their deaths. Gold teeth and dental fillings, along with wedding rings and other jewelry, were removed from the bodies of murdered victims and melted down or shipped as bullion, contributing to Nazi gold reserves.
Confiscated goods--including gold, cash, art, ritual silver, furniture, clothing, and even human hair--were sorted, sold, or reused to support the German war economy and to enrich Nazi officials and collaborators.
Disgusting to see it happening again.

This is the photo included with the post:

The photo has been circulating on Facebook since Jan. 1, 2026 when an uncropped version of the photo (pictured below) was posted (archived here) by Noticias MN along with photos of other cars and a rollback tow truck in a snowy parking lot. This post made no mention of the bracelet the man was wearing, and did not point to any claims of stolen property.

Lead Stories was able to identify the apartment building in the background as Geneva Village in Oakdale, MN. Lead Stories found two additional short videos which appear to have been filmed in the same parking lot at the same general time. The videos were posted on Facebook by Crime Tales MN on Jan. 1, 2026. One video (archived here) was captioned:

ICE agents seen near a vehicle in Oakdale, Minnesota earlier today.
No additional details have been released at this time.
The caption for the other video (archived here) contained a typo in the year:
ICE agents were seen in North St. Paul on January 1st. 2025
No additional details have been released at this time.
None of these photos or videos provide evidence to support the claim that the ICE agent in the photo stole the bracelet he is wearing.
Lead Stories reached out to the Oakdale, MN Police Department to inquire if there were any relevant stolen property reports and will update this article if we receive a reply.
