Fact Check: Trump Did NOT Call 'Mother Of All Deals' Pact Between India And EU A 'High School Science Project' On Truth Social Satire Label

Did U.S. President Donald Trump call the 'mother of all deals' trade agreement between India and the EU. a 'high school science project' on Truth Social? No, that's not true: The purported screenshot of his post was digitally manufactured. It showed a satire disclaimer and was initially published by an account that asked its audiences not to take its content seriously. Lead Stories found no traces of the supposed post on either Trump's social media account, nor on an archive of his posts, nor in real news reports.

The claim originated from a post (archived here and here) on X Jan. 27, 2026. It opened:

About time...

The entry shared what seemed to be a screenshot of Donald Trump's post on Truth Social. That image read:

I'm hearing 'Lying' Ursula and the India group are signing the so-called 'Mother of All Deals.' SO CUTE! 👶 🍼 They're playing house while I'm running the neighborhood. Everyone knows there is only one DADDY in the room, and he's currently sitting in the Oval Office making America RICH again!

The EU is so broke they had to beg for a 'Mother' -- probably because they can't pay their own bills! I told India: 'You want a deal? Pay the 50% Daddy Tax (Tariffs!) first.' Now they're running to Brussels? GOOD LUCK! It's a total disaster waiting to happen. My deals are massive, they're physical, they're GORGEOUS. Their deal looks like a high school science project.

Enjoy your little 'Mother' deal, folks. Daddy is busy winning! 🇺🇸 💸 #DealDaddy #MAGA2026

Satire label

As seen in the screenshot above, however, the bottom of the "screenshot" showed a disclaimer that read:

Satire.

"Wokeflix" (archived here and here), which is the account that posted the claim, described itself as a "cartoonist". Its bio line continued to emphasize that what people could find there were not real facts:

Don't take me seriously. Everything I post is mostly true. Bad art. Worse jokes. Best satire.

According to the "About this account tab", the account is based overseas:

No evidence that Trump published anything similar

Lead Stories searched Trump's account on Truth Social, but did not find posts discussing "Mother of all deals" (archived here):

Lead Stories also searched an archive of Trump's posts (archived here) that preserves entries that could have been later deleted. Yet, contrary to the viral "screenshot" dated Jan. 27, 2026, the archive showed no matches to the purported post's wording (archived here and here):

Lead Stories also used the AI-powered search tool Sourcebase.ai (archived here and here), developed for media organizations, with participation from journalists such as Glen Kessler (archived here and here), a former editor and writer for the Washington Post's Fact Checker section.

When asked if Trump ever publicly mentioned "Mother of all deals", the tool said:

No news reports about the purported post

The term "mother of all deals" entered the spotlight on Jan. 27, 2026 (archived here and here), as the EU and India reached a long-discussed trade agreement (archived here and here) that aims to gradually eliminate tariffs (archived here and here) on multiple categories of goods they buy from each other.

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said (archived here and here), addressing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi:

We did it. We have delivered the mother of all deals. We are creating a market of 2 billion people. This is a tale of two giants - the world's second- and fourth-largest economies. Two giants who choose partnership, in a true win-win fashion. A strong message that cooperation is the best answer to global challenges. This trade deal will integrate further our supply chains and strengthen our joint manufacturing power. It will cut up to EUR 4 billion in annual tariffs for exporters of all sizes. And it will create good jobs for millions of workers - here in India and in Europe.

According to France 24 (archived here and here), Modi also used the expression "mother of all deals".

Yet, a search on Google News (archived here) showed no media organization citing the purported Trump's response to it from Truth Social:

As of this writing, a Google search across the White House website (archived here) did not show any relevant results about India published within the past 24 hours.

A search across Trump's post on Truth Social between Jan. 26 and Jan. 27, 2026 (archived here and here), did not show a single entry mentioning India:

A CNBC report (archived here and here), last updated at 5:32 AM on Jan. 27, 2026, explicitly said that "Trump is yet to react publicly to the EU-India deal".
