Fact Check: President Trump's Easter Morning Truth Social Post Saying 'Open The F--kin Strait, You Crazy Bastards' Is Real A Real Post

Did President Donald Trump post a warning on his Truth Social account on Easter morning, April 5, 2026, that the United States would soon attack Iran's power plants and bridges and demanding that Iran "Open the Fuckin' Strait"? Yes, that's true: While it's not unusual for fake Trump posts to be widely shared on social platforms, Lead Stories confirmed this one is real. It remained on Trump's verified Truth Social account at the time of writing.

The message appeared in a post published by the @realDonaldTrump Truth Social account at 8:03 a.m. ET on April 5, 2026. It read:

Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP

Trump previously set a deadline of April 6, 2026, for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to international oil traffic or else face attacks on its power infrastructure.

The "Power Plant Day" warning was posted soon after Trump posted confirmation (archived here) that the U.S. had rescued an F-15 crew member " from deep inside the mountains of Iran."
