Fact Check: EDITED Video Of Erling Haaland Eating And Scaring Himself -- Is A Face Swap Of A Chinese Slapstick Comedy Video Altered Video

Did Norwegian soccer player Erling Haaland scare himself when he saw his reflection in a mirror as he was eating at a restaurant? No, that's not true: The video was digitally edited with a face swap program. The original video does not show Haaland but Chinese comic Jin Long performing a skit in his signature physical comedy style. The video was published on Long's TikTok account on June 15, 2026.

The altered video was published in a post (archived here) by the X account @Crazymoments01 on June 29, 2026. It was captioned:

I'm seriously going to die laughing at Haaland.

The 13-second video appears to show Norwegian soccer star Erling Haaland (archived here) eating voraciously with chopsticks, and then startling at his own reflection. A comment under the post shared a clip of the original video, but without crediting the source (archived here). This video has been reproduced many times on social media.

The originating account, @jinlongqiuqiu, is named for a husband-and-wife duo -- Jin Long and Qiu Qiu -- who run comedy accounts on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok. In their videos, Long plays an absent-minded mechanic, which explains his character's dirty face and hands. The video appears to have been first posted on TikTok on June 15, 2026 (archived here). The original skit is 31 seconds and Long's physical comedy continues past the initial startle reaction, cycling through friendly, quizzical, and smiling expressions (pictured below).

All of the details in the original @jinlongqiuqiu video and the Haaland spoof are the same. The tiles and wire on the wall, the food set on the tray, even the steamed mantou bun in his hand are the same, only the man's face and jacket have been swapped.
