Does a video show how multiple laser beams scanned the ground in the instant before the Venezuela earthquake struck? No, that's not true: One clip in the video was published on TikTok on March 18, 2026, months before earthquakes struck Venezuela on June 24, 2026. The video had already circulated widely with a caption calling it a "converging beam event" before it was recaptioned to associate it with the earthquakes. Additionally, the June 24 quakes struck shortly after 6 p.m. local time when it was still daylight in Venezuela.
The video resurfaced in a post (archived here) published by the X account @369Jessica369 on June 28, 2026. It was captioned in Chinese, translated automatically by Grok:
An instant before the Venezuela earthquake struck, multiple laser beams scanned the ground below.
This is a screenshot from the video which has been formatted to appear like a breaking news story with a "Última hora" chyron :

Several clips were added together to make the one-minute, seven-second montage published on X. Lead Stories used a combination of reverse image search and text-based searches to sort through multiple copies of the videos posted on Instagram and YouTube to finally identify the account on TikTok where they originated, @archive.available. The 15 second video captioned, "Case 058 Converging Beam Event" was published months before the Venezuela earthquakes on March 18, 2026. The video (archived here) does not have any disclaimers that it was made with AI or CGI. However, the number of similar videos published by this account suggests the videos were mass-produced. The video in question is among the posts pinned at the top of the page, captioned:
Multiple beams converging across the cloud layer tonight.
CASE 058 logged.
Has anyone seen something like this before?

The theme of the @archive.available account is described in the bio:
Documenting recurring sky phenomena.
Structured case logs & weekly pattern index.
Ongoing archive.
The account has posted many similar videos (pictured below). Since Feb. 11, 2026, the account has posted 130 videos featuring pink laser lights in the night sky over populated areas. Earlier videos feature similar laser and lightning-like effects but in other colors: blue, purple and white.
