Does a video show a real traffic stop where an interaction with a nervous 16-year-old driver was captured on a police officer's bodycam? No, that's not true: The footage originated from a YouTube channel which discloses it sometimes uses professional actors to reenact original scripted content. The video was filmed in the Edgewater neighborhood in Miami, but the decal on the patrol car door names a non-existent place -- City Of Apple Springs, Florida.
The scripted video skit appeared in a post (archived here) published on X by @HistorianUSA1 on June 18, 2026. It was captioned:
Bodycam gold: Cop pulls over a nervous 16-year-old going 10mph in a 35... then gives him a full confidence coaching session instead of a ticket.
'You've gotta commit. You can't drive scared.'
Follows the kid home to make sure he gets there safe.
Real policing. Real humanity. This is what we need more of. 🇺🇸

This video has been reformatted to display in a vertical format. The original landscape format video (embedded below) titled "Nervous Teen Driver Pulled Over By Police", was published on YouTube by Bodycam Declassified on May 29, 2026, (archived here). The channel's description (archived here) says:
Our channel presents authentic bodycam footage, sourced through official FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests, as well as reenactments using professional actors to clarify key events. All reenacted content is original, scripted, and the exclusive intellectual property of Media 360 LLC, protected under copyright law. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of our bodycam content is strictly prohibited.
Because the channel description suggests it sometimes publishes authentic bodycam footage, Lead Stories looked to the location clues for further verification.
Near the end of the video, at 5 minutes, 47 seconds, the door of the patrol car is visible (details pictured below). It says, "City of Apple Springs Florida". There is no city by that name in Florida (archived here).
The distinctive skyscrapers and palm trees in the footage helped identify the city and neighborhood. Lead Stories used Google's Instant Streetview to find the gravel alley with the distinctive tree and patio dining umbrellas across the street (visible at 14 seconds). The video was filmed off 25th Street in the Edgewater neighborhood in Miami, Fla. (archived here).![]()
