The mild winter so far in the eastern United States should give way to what one forecaster calls a "blockbuster blizzard for the ages" over the coming weekend.

The "high confidence event" that is predicted to slam the east coast with a "major snowfall" is "textbook" and the storm should be similar to the one that hit February 5 and 6 of 2010, one noted forecaster said.
