Donald Trump questioned if soldiers stole millions of dollars in cash the United States sent into Iraq to help with reconstruction after the 2003 invasion.
"How about bringing baskets of money, millions and millions of dollars, and handing it out?" Trump asked at his Tuesday rally in Greensboro, North Carolina. "I want to know, who were the soldiers that had the job? Because I think they're living very well right now, whoever they might be."
It wasn't clear if the GOP presumptive presidential nominee was referring to American or Iraqi soldiers stealing the cash.
Thank you Greensboro, North Carolina! Will be back soon! #AmericaFirst pic.twitter.com/R29WMGNLGG
