Fact Check

  • by: Alan Duke

Lead Stories' Trendolizer detected a fake story that says imprisonered cult leader Charles Manson has died as trending on social platforms. While Manson is very ill and hospitalized, he is not dead yet.

The hoax report claimed that Manson, who was recently taken from his prison cell to a hospital bed, " died from natural causes after a short illness ."

"Manson was taken to the hospital approximately one month ago, and was suffering from several illnesses, including bronchitis, dementia, and colon cancer," said Dr. Shawn Tate. "He died peacefully in sleep last evening at approximately 11:45pm."

While Manson will certainly die someday, that day has not arrived as of this writing -- January 30, 2017.

So you can stop sharing that hoax on your Facebook timeline.
