Fact Check: Chelsea Clinton Did NOT Tweet About Bill Gates Having A 'Physical Relationship With An Underling' Fake Tweet

Did Chelsea Clinton tweet about Bill Gates with, "What kind of man pursues a physical relationship with an underling and has relations with her in their office???"? No, that's not true: The tweet is fake; it does not show up on her verified Twitter account.

The claim originated in a Facebook post (archived here) published on May 19, 2021. As of May 24, 2021, it had been shared 252 times with 39 comments. It opened:

The more I hear about Bill Gates behavior the more I ashamed for him I feel. What kind of man pursues a physical relationship with an underling and has relations with her in their office??? Time to close the window on him. I always liked Mac better anyway.

This is what the post looked like on Facebook on May 24, 2021:

A reverse image search using Yandex didn't show any matching images. Searching Chelsea Clinton's Twitter account with keywords like "Bill Gates," "man pursues a physical relationship" and "relations with her in their office" did not reveal any such tweet. Results from searching Chelsea Clinton's name plus "Bill Gates" produced only Twitter users tweeting the screenshot of the fake tweet at Chelsea Clinton.
