Did Michigan authorize a full forensic audit of the 2020 presidential election? No, that's not true: No new audits are planned, a spokeswoman for the Michigan secretary of state told Lead Stories on May 11, 2021. Since the election, more than 250 audits have been completed, reflecting the largest number of audits ever conducted in Michigan's history.
The claim appeared in a tweet (archived here) posted by "Dino Veletanlic" on May 10, 2021. It read:
BREAKING: Michigan has authorized a full forensic audit of the 2020 Presidential Election

The tweet did not include any evidence or source to support its claim, which was refuted by Tracy Wimmer, spokeswoman for the Michigan secretary of state. In an email to Lead Stories, dated May 11, 2021, Wimmer wrote:
No idea what this rumor thinks it is referring to, but no new audits are planned. We conducted more than 250 around the state and those were completed months ago.
On March, 2, 2021, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson released a statement on the 250 post-election audits. She said:
Over the last several months, the state Bureau of Elections has worked with local clerks to conduct more audits than ever before in our state's history, and each has reaffirmed the accuracy, security and integrity of the November 2020 election.
