Did a March 2025 video demonstrate that U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi had issued an arrest warrant for 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton? No, that's not true: the video included two clips of Bondi mentioning the Clinton email controversy, but nothing to support a title which declared "Pam Bondi ISSUES ARREST WARRANT for Hillary Clinton." The Justice Department made no public statement to support the claim that Clinton's arrest was imminent in March or April 2025.
The claim appeared in a March 31, 2025, video on YouTube (archived here). The title of that video was:
Trump AG Pam Bondi ISSUES ARREST WARRANT For Hillary Clinton After SIGNAL LEAK
This is what it looked like at time of writing:

The speaker in the video offered no specific, concrete proof to support the claim that Bondi had issued an arrest warrant for Clinton, as of March 31, 2025. Rather, the video consisted of some general commentary by the speaker, along with two clips.
The first showed Bondi speaking at a March 27 press conference, responding to a question about "Signalgate" by pointing, in part, to an earlier controversy surrounding the alleged wiping clean of servers containing emails, by Clinton's staff. Bondi said:
...If you want to talk about classified information, talk about what was at Hillary Clinton's home that she was trying to BleachBit...
The second clip showed Bondi, then Florida Attorney General, appearing on Sean Hannity's Fox News show on November 3, 2017. In response to questions relating to various allegations of wrongdoing on the part of Clinton, Bondi appeared to encourage federal prosecutors at the time to investigate those allegations against Clinton, including claims relating to the email controversy. Bondi said:
...I believe in the rule of law. I have got to have complete faith that our United States Attorney General Jeff Sessions, [then Deputy Attorney General] Rod Rosenstein -- they are going to have to dig, they are going to continue to dig. They better be digging right now, because Sean, we have got to find out the truth...this has to do with potential law violations, and only the Justice Department can get their hands on all these documents.
Those two clips might well indicate that Bondi is of the general opinion that Clinton acted improperly at times in the past. They are not proof that she intends to initiate a new investigation into previously-examined allegations, nor that she has gone as far as issuing an arrest warrant for Clinton, something that would almost certaintly imply that such an investigation had already taken place.
Indeed, neither Bondi nor the Justice Department had made any public pronouncements about the imminent arrest of Clinton, as of April 1. A search for the name "Clinton" yielded no results on the X accounts of both Bondi (archived here) and the Justice Department (archived here).
Similarly, a search for the name "Clinton" in the Justice Department's archive of press releases yielded no results (archived here).
The arrest warrant claim was picked up and re-posted on different social media platforms, including on TikTok and X.com.
