Fact Check: FAKE Video Shows A Prisoner Hiding In Cell By Suspending Himself Under The Ceiling -- It's AI AI-Generated

Is a video that shows a prisoner hiding in his cell by suspending himself under the ceiling while a guard checks the cell authentic? No, that's not true: Online detection tools flagged the video as likely AI-generated. One rated it as 100% AI-generated.

The claim appeared in a video posted on April 14, 2026, on X account @Oguthaane (archived here and here). It opened:

A prisoner is trying to hide in a surprising manner in the upper corner of the cell, right under the ceiling.

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

The Hive Moderation AI-Generated Content Detection tool rated the video as 100% 'likely to be AI-generated':

The Detectvideo AI tool rated the video as having a 72% likelihood of being AI-generated or manipulated:

Videos of prisoners suspending themselves from the ceiling while an unaware guard checks the cell have been shared widely on social media platforms. Few of the copies circulating on social media acknowledge that they are AI-generated media. A similar video posted on TikTok account @darkreality749 (archived here) has a label that states "Contains AI-generated media" as this screenshot shows (red highlight added by Lead Stories):

These videos can be identified as fakes without the disclosure label by looking closely for glitches and other unreal signals. The prisoners' arms appear oddly curved, missing, or positioned impossibly, as these two screenshots show (red highlights added by Lead Stories):

Even if a prisoner possessed acrobatic skills to hold themselves against the ceiling, it is impossible for a guard to enter the cell, glance at the ceiling, and not see them suspended in the cell. The guard's uniform has no identifying words, symbols or badges that identify their job or correction system, as this screenshot shows:
