The Lexus Hoverboard is NOT a Hoax! How Does It Work?

Lexus, the Japanese car company, is pushing its new hoverboard hard, spending money to promote it's Twitter hashtag #LexusHover. But you might be skeptical if you remember the Funny or Die hoax video two years earlier that used illusions and cables to make you think they had one that rivaled Marty McFly's Back to the Future version.

The Lexus Hoverboard is for real (if you have a lot of extra cash to buy one.)

"According to Lexus, its hoverboard relies on superconductors and magnets, which combine to repel the force of gravity and lift an object--like, say, a fancy skateboard and its rider--above the ground," Wired Magazine said in its review.
