Did Nicole Schwab -- daughter of World Economic Forum (WEF) founder Klaus Schwab -- say, "permanent climate lockdowns [are] coming -- whether you like it or not"? No, that's not true: There is no record of Nicole Schwab having said that. An article that falsely reported the quote in July 2023 self-debunks by including a link to an authentic video that featured the social entrepreneur discussing the WEF initiative "The Great Reset." At no point in the video did Nicole Schwab mention "permanent climate lockdowns."
The claim originated in an article published by The People's Voice on July 30, 2023. It was titled, "Klaus Schwab's Daughter: 'Permanent Climate Lockdowns Coming - Whether You Like It or Not'" (archived here), and an introduction to the article read:
The daughter of World Economic Forum founder Klaus Schwab has boasted that permanent 'climate lockdowns' are coming, whether people like it or not.
According to Nicole Schwab, the COVID pandemic was a "tremendous opportunity" to test how the public would comply with the WEF's plans to usher in their Great Reset agenda.
The WEF's promotion of the "climate emergency" narrative seeks to "create a change that is not incremental...to position nature at the core of the economy," according to Schwab's offspring.
Nicole Schwab made the admission in a newly unearthed video that was recorded during a WEF panel discussion back in 2020.
Below is how the article appeared at the time of this publication:

As of August 2023, there is no publicly available record of Nicole having made the statement reflected in The People's Voice headline.
The People's Voice pulled the article verbatim from the site Slay News, which published a story titled "Klaus Schwab's Daughter: Covid Was Precursor to Coming 'Climate Lockdowns'" on July 29, 2023 (archived here). The People's Voice simply changed its headline to inaccurately report supposed statements made by Nicole.
Both articles referenced a "newly unearthed video" that was originally recorded in June 2020 and subsequently publicly published on YouTube in July 2021. Each article included a link to a 50-second clip that was posted to Rumble on July 27, 2023, (archived here) titled, "Daughter of Klaus Schwab Admits Covid Tyranny Was a Precursor to Coming Climate Lockdowns."
At no point did Nicole Schwab mention "climate lockdowns." She stated the following:
This crisis has shown us that first of all, things can shift very rapidly. When we put our minds to it and when we feel the immediate emergency to our livelihoods and second, that clearly the system -- I mean, you mentioned it earlier -- that we had before is not sustainable. So, I see it as a tremendous opportunity to really, to have this great reset and to use this huge flow, you know, of money to use the increased levers that policymakers have today in a way that was not possible before to create a change that is not incremental but that we can look back and we can say, "this is the moment where we really started to position, you know, nature at the core of the economy."
The above clip was taken from an authentic 2:10 minute video recorded in Yvorne, Switzerland, in June 2020 by the climate action group InTent. It was titled, "The Urgency of a Global Green Transition - with Nicole Schwab" (archived here) and featured a roundtable discussion in which Nicole Schwab commented on "The Great Reset," a WEF initiative that was launched in June 2020 to explore ways in which the COVID pandemic exposed weaknesses and whether the world was adequately prepared for future disasters. "The Great Reset" was also the theme of a "unique twin summit" convened by the WEF in January 2021.
The term "climate lockdown" was not mentioned in the full version, either.
About The People's Voice
The People's Voice is among the most prolific online publishers of fake news. It has published numerous fake news articles, so anything it publishes should be taken with a large grain of salt. Its Facebook page, "The People's Voice," lost its verification checkmark, according to a 2018 report from Media Matters For America.
Lead Stories has also debunked a claim that WEF founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab was planning a major cyberattack that would effectively shut down "our society as a whole." Other Lead Stories on claims concerning Klaus Schwab are here and here.
