Did President Joe Biden sign an executive order terminating Social Security benefits and Supplemental Security Income and banning side jobs in June 2024? No, that's not true: The White House released no such order. A post making the claim about this supposed order did not provide any supporting evidence; it included unrelated footage from a 2021 speech that Biden gave on the need to raise the debt ceiling.
The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on TikTok on March 22, 2024. The post included a roughly five-minute clip of Biden giving a speech. A graphic on the video read:
President Biden signs an executive order to terminate Social Security, SSI,bans side hustle
This bill will take action in June 12 2024
This is what the post looked like on TikTok at the time of writing:

The video of Biden speaking is a clip from a speech he gave on October 6, 2021, on the need to raise the debt ceiling. In it, he says nothing about terminating Social Security benefits or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or banning side jobs in June 2024. You can read on the White House website (archived here) a transcript of his remarks and watch the entire speech below:
Besides the unrelated video footage, the post on TikTok did not include any evidence to back up its claim.
Of note, the White House, which releases the official documents for presidential actions (archived here), did not release any order that said Biden terminated Social Security benefits.
If it had, such an order would have been widely reported. At the time of writing on March 29, 2024, there were no credible news reports of Biden stopping Social Security benefits or SSI, or banning side jobs. In fact, the first story that appeared in a Google News search (archived here) for "Biden terminating Social Security" was a Reuters fact check (archived here) that said the president did not sign an executive order to terminate Social Security.
