STORY UPDATED: check for updates below.
Did Olympian Simone Biles reveal that she's pregnant and announce she will retire when she finishes competing at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, as a Facebook post said? No, that's not true: At the time of writing, Lead Stories did not find any evidence on her social media nor on credible sports news sites that Biles made such an announcement. Though the Facebook post attributed the report to FOX News, a representative of FOX told Lead Stories the network published no such report.
The claim appeared in a post on Facebook (archived here) where it was published on August 3, 2024. It opened:

The post claims that Fox News broke the story, however, Lead Stories did not find any such reports on foxnews.com (archived here). We reached out to Fox News about the claim. Sofie Watson, a publicist at Fox News, emailed Lead Stories on August 6, 2024, writing:
This is fake and was never reported by FOX News.
At the time of writing, the Olympic athlete has not made this announcement on her verified X (archived here), Instagram (archived here), or TikTok (archived here) accounts.
Lead Stories did a search using keywords on Google News, visible here, which found no credible documents or reporting to corroborate the claim (archived here).
We have contacted Biles' representatives and will update this article, as appropriate, when a response is received.
