Fact Check: Trump Did NOT Post Online Conspiracy Theory That Kamala Harris Is A Man -- Post NOT Found On Trump's Social Media Accounts Did Not Post

Did former President Donald Trump post on Truth Social that Vice President Kamala Harris is a man who was born in Benghazi, Libya? No, that's not true: Lead Stories searched Trump's Truth Social and X accounts and did not find any evidence of this post on them. A Google News search did not turn up any evidence for the story either.

The claim appeared in a post on X (archived here) on August 25, 2024. The post's caption read:

Donald Trump is pure rot and anyone who votes for him is disgraceful.

This is what the post looked like at the time of writing:

The claim consisted of what appeared to be a screenshot of a post from Trump's Truth Social account. But that post is not found on Trump's Truth Social account.

Lead Stories searched for evidence that Trump posted the "Kamal Aroush" claim on his Truth Social and X accounts (archived here and here), and did not find the image the claim purports came from Trump.

Lead Stories did a search using keywords on Google News' archive, visible here, which found no credible documents or reporting to corroborate the claim (archived here).

The post that is the focus of this fact check contains a screenshot with multiple images of Harris, a man and a supposed X post. The X post inside the claim read, "Do you know this man..? His name is 'Kamal Aroush' Born in Benghazi 'British Citizen' since 1986 His father was an Army General in the Libyan Sanussi Satanic Royal Army, graduated from Iraq in 1959,and had higher training in the UK ,and Baltimore-Maryland between 1960 -1964."

"Patrick Bouvier Kennedy" was the name on the X account where this quote originated. It was also the name of former President John F. Kennedy's son, who died in August 1963 "39 hours after his birth," according to The New York Times.

Lead Stories has contacted Donald Trump's press team and will update this article when a response is received.
