Fact Check: FAKE Photo Has Biden, Harris Supporters Holding 'Give Up Your Guns' And 'Abolish The 2A' Signs Altered Pic

Does an authentic photo show supporters of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris holding signs that read "Give up your guns" and "Abolish the 2A," as a post on X says? No, that's not true: This photo was digitally altered to change the message on the signs. The original, unedited version of the photo was first published in November 2020 with signs that read "You're Fired" and "Biden Harris."

A version of the claim appeared in a post on X on March 6, 2024, (archived here) with the caption:

White, middle-aged, liberal women will be the death of this country.

Here is how the post appeared at the time of writing:

The photo was digitally altered to change the message on both signs. The original, unedited version was first published in November 2020 with signs that read "You're Fired" and "Biden Harris."

A reverse image search (archived here) revealed that the photo was published by ABC's San Francisco station KGO-TV on November 7, 2020.

The article was titled, "PHOTOS: Bay Area celebrates Joe Biden, Kamala Harris' 2020 presidential win" (archived here). The photo, seen on slide three, included a caption that read:
