Fact Check: NO Evidence Elizabeth Warren Has A Net Worth Of $67 Million As Of March 2025 Records Refute

Does Elizabeth Warren have a net worth of $67 million as of March 2025? No, that's not true: The Massachusetts senator is estimated to be worth between $7 and $12 million. There is no evidence that supports her being worth $67 million, even with her salary as a senator, homes, investments and other income. Her most recent publicly available financial disclosure forms do not show finances that would be worth $67 million. A post stating her net worth is $67 million gives no proof or sources to back up the claim.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) where it was published on X on March 5, 2025. It opened:

Elizabeth Warren salary:
$285,000/yr
Net worth: $67,000,000
Wants to stop YOU from finding out where your money goes.

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

The post does not offer any evidence or proof of that Warren's net worth. There are no sources cited nor are there any details that would back up the claim in the tweet.

Warren's wealth was estimated in 2018 to be $7,977,513 by Open Secrets (archived here). The Massachusetts senator has also posted all of her personal tax returns (archived here) for the past 16 years online. These do not show income that supports the claim that her net worth has grown to $67 million over the past eight years.

She earns about $1 million a year, with her salary, investments and other sources of income. For example, in 2014 she received a $1.2 million advance from her book publisher. Warren and her husband reported a combined income of approximately $890,000 in 2023, according to her tax filing (archived here).

Warren and her husband, Bruce Mann, own a home (archived here) valued at an estimated $3.8 million in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a condo in Washington, D.C. that she purchased in 2013 for almost $800,000, as the Washington Post reported (archived here).

Her 2023 income and assets financial disclosure (archived here) to the U.S. Senate shows her mutual funds were estimated to be at least $1.76 million, using the lowest value amounts for the calculations.

In 2019, Forbes reported (archived here) that Warren was worth an estimated $12 million, noting she and her husband, "hold much of their wealth in retirement accounts."
