There is a trending NOT TRUE story on the internet stating "Lil Kim Challenge? Teen Dies Bathing In Tub Filled With Bleach For 3 Hours To Lighten Her Skin." The HOAX story comes from known hoax site, EmpireHerald.com, but people sometimes aren't aware of this and continue to share to lies.

A small portion of the NOT TRUE story:

Shaquana Barrett, age 16, of Atlanta was found dead in her home by authorities this evening. Reportedly, the teen sat inside of her bathtub filled with Bleach to "lighten" her skin to look more like Lil Kim. Moments after the New York rapper, Lil Kim, posted photos of her "new look" on her Instagram page, the photos instantly went viral.

Doing a simple search of the name Shaquana Barrett ONLY shows returns for EmpireHerald.com stories. You would think a story of this magnitude would show up on some of the more reputable websites taht are out there. The image of the cop cars on scene used in the HOAX story actually comes from a 2015 story "Police investigate crime scene in southwest Charlotte."

It is true that over the years Lil' Kim's appearance has definitely changed and it is true that there is a 30 day Lil' Kim Challenge on the internet, but the challenge is NOT to bleach your skin rather it's to name a certain favorite Lil' Kim song over a 30 day period. Lil' Kim did shock many people with a recent post to Instagram, but it is what it is and she will do what she wants to do.

Miami Heat!!! πŸ”₯🌞😍
