Did musician Bruce Springsteen announce that he will "leave the United States if Donald Trump is elected President in 2024," as a post on X claimed? There is no record that the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer made such an announcement as of July 16, 2024. The post that made the claim had no evidence or record to prove it. Lead Stories found no record on Springsteen's official online channels to suggest he said that.
The claim appeared in a post on X on July 11, 2024, (archived here) with a caption that read:

The account that shared the post above, Israel & USA forever, claims in its bio line that its content has been "🔁 Retweeted 4 times by: @realDonaldTrump." The account also shared a post on July 14, 2025 (archived here), that was nearly identical to the Springsteen meme. It also lacked any supporting evidence, this time claiming:
Tom Hanks announces he will leave the United States if Donald Trump is elected President in 2024!
Springsteen has been outspoken about Trump in the past. In 2017, for example, Billboard Music Chart reported (archived here) that Springsteen and Pittsburgh musician Joe Grushecky released a song called "That's What Makes Us Great." At the time, the entertainment channel iHeartRADIO called (archived here) the song an "eviscerating anti-Trump anthem."
In a 2020 interview with the Australian publication, The Daily Telegraph (archived here), the "Born in the U.S.A." singer said he would be "on the next plane" if Trump were re-elected:
When asked if he would contemplate relocating to Australia - where he rekindled a love affair with diehard fans over three tours between 2013 and 2017 - Springsteen laughed and said, 'I would consider that'.
'I love Australia. Every time, we have nothing but good times down there. It's alway a treat to come. Love the people, love the geography, great place for motorcycle trips, it's close to our hearts,' he said.
'And if Trump is re-elected - which he will not be; I'm predicting right now he's gonna lose - if by some happenstance he should be, I'll see you on the next plane.'
Lead Stories contacted Creative Artists Agency (archived here), a talent agency affiliated with the singer, and will update this article if we receive a response.
